About Paintball Air Tanks
12 Gram Air Cylinder
12 Gram CO2
cartridges are mainly used in the mag fed style paintball guns or pistols. This is the same CO2 cartridge used in most BB guns that you would find at your local retail store. These are a one time use that are required to be punctured before any air will come out and once are punctured all the air will come out.
CO2 Paintball Tank
CO2 tanks are the most popular and most sold paintball air tank system and has been for over twenty years. This is due to a lower price to get started and most of your entry level paintball markers will work off of CO2. Players that are also looking to play on their own property or play paintball at home can get a CO2 tank filled up at your local sporting goods store and be able to shoot between 600 to 1200 shots per air fill. This is much easier than most Compressed air tanks or high pressure air tanks. CO2 tanks are often used for Kegerators, fish tanks, t shirt canons and personal soda stream machines.
Compressed Air /High Pressure Air Tanks
High pressure air tanks or compressed air tanks as some call them are the high end air source for the electronic paintball guns. The main difference between HPA and CO2 is that CO2 contains liquid where HPA is filtered high pressure air which is regulated and much cleaner. While CO2's pressure will increase the warmer it gets, the HPA air tanks have a regulator on them that controls how much pressure is going into your paintball gun. This increases the life of the o rings and internal workings of your electronic and top performing paintball markers.
HPA air tanks
are often used for race cars, air rifles and high end pellet rifles.
Paintball Remote Hoses
When a player does not want to carry their paintball air tank on the marker itself, they turn to a remote hose to give them the ability to mount their air tank to their back while the hose transports the air directly into the paintball gun. There are many types of remote hoses that offer a quick disconnect feature or even a duel remote hose to run a pistol and a standard paintball gun all of of the same air tank. For the younger or smaller paintball players the
paintball remote system
really helps off set the weight of the paintball tank off the gun and transfers it to the players back where the weight is less noticeable. Some players prefer the coiled remote hose vs the straight depending on the length of hose they are looking for in addition to their playing style as some remotes may get caught in the brush easier than others.
CO2 Paintball Fill Stations
As mentioned before, if players are looking to play paintball on their own property the CO2 fill stations make it fairly simple to refill your own paintball tanks on site. We have a lot of players and customers who will buy a handful of air tanks, buy a kegerator CO2 tank and purchase the CO2 fill station. This gives them the option to have a ton of air on their own property and is great especially for those who might not be playing near a local sporting goods or paintball store. The only other item you would need is a small fishing scale or postal scale in order to weight the paintball
to determine how full or empty they are prior to filling them.
Scuba High Pressure Air Fill Station
Scuba air tanks now give the option to players who use compressed air to refill their own high pressure air tanks. Scuba tanks only refill up to 3000 psi but if you are wanting to shoot your HPA tank off site or your local paintball field doesn't offer
this is a great option. The scuba high pressure fill station includes a gauge that helps you keep an eye on your refills to know when you are running low.
Paintball Tank Covers
Some paintball air tanks cost as low as $20 while others run upwards of $250. The more expensive paintball tanks are a carbon fiber wrapped air cylinder and aren't as durable as your entry level CO2 paintball tanks or the aluminum 48/3000 air tanks. Paintball tank covers give you the ability to run, dive and play hard without the concern of damaging your expensive and high end paintball HPA tank.
or tank grips as some call them are available in full coverage, 3/4th coverage or just a tank grip option. Each one of these protects the air system more or less depending on your choice of style. Tank grips are mainly used to offer shoulder grip and prevent your air tank from slipping while trying to shoulder your marker. The other tank covers completely cover the cylinder offer full protection in addition to giving the compressed air tank shoulder grip when you are shooting and moving.
Paintball Tank Cases
In addition to tank covers to protect your extremely nice air tank, paintball tank cases are a great addition to your gear bag and protective case selection. Hard cases are now available for nearly every piece of gear available but one of the most popular and highest recommended cases is the tank case. Instead of your paintball tank rolling out of your gear bag, back seat or bed of your truck and getting damaged, the hard paintball cases for your tank will save you money and headache in the long run. The Exalt hard cases or durable and will protect your gear from the normal wear and tear while transporting your paintball equipment back and forth to the field.
